CIF - Training and Development Heritage Programmes

The Register of Heritage Contractors aims to provide contractors with the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in the field of heritage works, while providing both public and private clients with an accessible list of reliable heritage contractors.

The provision of adequate training is a key part of continuing both personal and business development. Check this page for current course dates.

The Register is divided into two parts:

  • Main Contractors, who are available for larger projects and who have demonstrated their experience in managing heritage projects for all types of heritage works.
  • Specialist Contractors, who have demonstrated experience in executing projects in one or more of the specialist categories.

The criteria for the Register is set out and agreed by the Heritage Registration Board and all contractors are approved by a separate Selection Committee. The Heritage Registration Board includes representatives from the Department of Arts, Heritage & The Gaeltacht; Office of Public Works; Heritage Council; Irish Georgian Society; Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland; Limerick Institute of Technology; Fingal County Council; Private Sector Professionals; Construction Industry Federation.
